Orlando Student Mission Trip 2023

The Orlando Student Mission Team will be serving in Orlando, Florida with Servant Life. The team will prepare for a week of ministry to local children and teens through activities such as singing, testimonies, fun skits, crafts, and sports (basketball, softball, volleyball). The team may also participate in a physical work project either in a nearby community or on the campus of CMA (details are TBD). A parent or guardian must accompany the student on this trip. Most importantly, there will be opportunities for personal spiritual growth, relationship development among team members, meaningful devotional and worship time, and quiet times for reflection and prayer.
NOTE: The team will be transported to and from Orlando on a van departing from Christ Journey Curch 624 Anastasia Avenue Coral Gables Florida 33134.

APPLICATION IS OPEN TO 6th, 7th, or 8th GRADE STUDENTS ONLY
APPLICATION OPENS: September 1
APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 1st  Deadline Extended to November 30th 
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: November 6th 
$200 DEPOSIT DUE: November 10th

TRIP COST: 

• $600.00 per person 
• Cost covers Transportation to and from Orlando, ground transportation, meals, accommodations, taxes, tariffs & fees, team shirt, travel insurance, devotional journal. 
• Team members are responsible for their own spending money for snacks or souvenirs and meals during travel Days to Orlando and back to Miami
• Payment due dates:
  • Deposit                      November 10th            $200
  • Payment #1               December 15th            $200
  • Payment #2               January 15th                $200 

 
DEPOSIT: The $200 deposit is paid using the credit card on file with the online application or by a check made out to Christ Journey Church. Please notify the Missions Office with your preference, otherwise your credit card will be charged $200.00 on November 10th
 
FINAL PAYMENT: 
If final payment is not completed by the deadlines set above, the credit card on file with Service Reef will be charged the remainder of the trip cost owed at least 14 days before the first day of trip.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVAL AS A MIDDLE SCHOOL ORLANDO MISSION TRIP TEAM MEMBER:

• Each student must be accompanied on this trip by one parent or guardian
• Preferably has served as a volunteer at a Christ Journey City Serve or local mission project
• Church membership is preferred but not required
• Group membership is preferred but not required
• Serving as a volunteer at Christ Journey Church, or in school or community is preferred but not required
• Regular involvement in Christ Journey Student Ministry is preferred but not required
• Is willing to attend all team meetings

RISK LEVEL INFORMATION

• Orlando: Level 1 Low Risk

IMMUNIZATIONS:
All team members are to make their own decisions regarding immunizations and medicines for in-country travel based on the CDC recommendations and consultation with a primary care physician. Immunization expenses are the responsibility of the team member.
 
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBLITY:
Acceptance onto the team requires an immediate $200 deposit with the credit card on file or by check. All financial obligations for the trip are the responsibility of the team member. Failure to meet financial deadlines may result in cancellation of being a team member. Remember to trust God to provide as you respond to the call to go on mission – “Where God guides, He provides!” Also, both the student and the parent/guardian are responsible for the full cost of the per person fee for this trip.
 
DONATIONS:
Any monetary donations designated for a team member are tax-deductible as allowed by the IRS and are non-refundable.

SPECIAL NOTE:
If the number of applications for this trip exceeds the number of available spaces, then priority will be given to Christ Journey members and then to Christ Journey attendees. Applicants who are not members of or who do not attend Christ Journey Church will be considered on a case-by-case basis and only if there is space available.
